Oregon: a photo blog

Last week I headed halfway across the country to visit Dan and Justin in Oregon (both are friends from Hastings College and Dan was also my roommate when I lived in Memphis the first summer). Up until last summer they actually lived in Denver, but silly me never actually made the 8 hour drive to see them. Instead (after much complaining about never visiting from Dan), I invited myself to their apartment in Oregon! I really didn't do much planning ahead, so mostly it was us winging it, but we saw some gorgeous sights, had plenty of quality time playing board games and put together the world's hardest puzzle.

They're both regular readers of the blog, so for the rest of you...apparently all you gotta do is read my blog and complain a little and then I'll show up on your front step!

When Dan & I lived together, we lived in a less-than-desirable apartment for
about a month. Eventually we moved to a better place, but I cooked for us most
nights. Dan really loved my pasta-alfredo-pesto combo (cheap + easy + required
few kitchen utensils), so that made a repeat appearance last week (no photos
because we were too busy eating). Another request were "my" cookies.
I don't have a recipe to share, but they're usually my go-to when I need to
bake something. The boys don't have an electric mixer of any kind, so I got
a tiny taste of what it was like before the glory days of Kitchen Aid.
Lemme just say that I'm not a fan...

Originally I had planned to spend 6+ hours in CLNP & watch the sunset because that's what I had
read you were supposed to do, but as it turns out it was buried in 16 feet of snow & all but
one road was closed. Change of plans...Umpqua National Forest, here I come!
